A powerful sight at Georgetown Elementary in Marquette Heights when the Vets came marching in.
It was a packed house in the gym as at least 50 vets were treated like royalty.
In addition to this rousing introduction, they also got breakfast.
We found the event also leaves a powerful impression on the students.
"The kids absolutely love patriotic music. They really get into it. Some of them, even, tears were streaming down their face because it means so much to them," said Heather Woods, the chorus teacher at the school.
"It's actually inspiring to actually be on the other end of it. And to show girls there are some of us here and you can do it," said U.S. Army Specialist Samantha Harr.
Samantha joined the Army in 2012, but told her parents at age three she was headed for the military.
