HENNEPIN, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

A Putnam County man has indicted a Standard man for murder in connection with the 2016 death of his sister-in-law.

Clifford Andersen was indicted by a Putnam County grand jury for the murder of Deborah Dewey, 62, of Ladd. Dewey was found in a shallow grave in the yard of a house in the Putnam County village of Standard on September 12, 2016.

Dewey was last seen alive August 22, 2016 in Spring Valley.

Andresen was charged and indicted for concealment of a homicidal death in 2016. A year-long Illinois State Police investigation led to Andresen's indictment for murder in connection with the case.

The ISP were assisted by the Illinois Attorney General's Office, Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Bureau County Sheriff's Office and Cook County Sheriff's Office.
