A man accused of robbing a Jimmy John's manager in a parking lot was arrested Thursday night after a weeks-long investigation.
Lincoln police officers responded to the Jimmy John's store around 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 21. Police said Shawn Welch, 39, of Lincoln approached the manager in the parking lot at closing time and held him up with a handgun. Police said Welch fled the scene after taking a small amount of money from the manager.
Welch was arrested Nov. 2 in a vehicle at the intersection of Williamette and Kickapoo in Lincoln after the police investigation led them to him. Welch was arrested for armed robbery, obstructing a peace officer, driving with a suspended license and on a Logan County warrant.
