Peoria police arrested a 16-year-old in connection with the the shooting death of Trayvon N. Harris in Peoria's West Bluff.
The 16-year-old was the second shooting victim found in the alley near the intersection of Broadway and Columbia Terrace. Police interviewed the 16-year-old suspect Tuesday after he was released from the hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect was arrested for murder and taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
Due to the age of the suspect, the suspect's name has not been released.
The Peoria County Coroner has identified a 16-year-old killed in a shooting Sunday afternoon in Peoria's West Bluff.
Coroner Jamie Harwood said Trayvon N. Harris of Peoria was pronounced dead after he was found in an alley in the 1300 block of N. Broadway, near Columbia Terrace. The autopsy showed Harris was shot three times in the chest and most likely died instantly.
It is unknown why Harris was in the alley. Another teenager was also shot and transported to OSF Saint Francis with non-life threatening injuries.
There is no information on suspects from authorities at this time.
