Detweiller Golf Course, Lakeview Aquatic Center and Glenn Oak tennis courts could potentially shut down to save money.
That's one of the budget plans for Peoria's Park District., which faces a $350,000 deficit.
At Wednesday night's public meeting, Executive Director Emily Cahill presented a budget plan to try and fix that, but it includes closing Lakeview Aquatic Center, Detweiller Golf Course and tennis courts at Glenn Oak Park.
This proposal also eliminates fireworks on the 3rd of July, and cut travel opportunities for board members.
Cahill says they don't enjoy making these cuts, but they are running out of options.
"It is absolutely critical that we not only find a way to balance this budget, but start conversations about how we are sustainable," she explained, "so that we can build back those reserves, pay back what we owe and be an asset for our community in the future."
This plan, which is just a proposal currently, is expected to save $325,000 in 2018. The fiscal year starts January first.
The board will continue discussion and vote toward the end of November or early December.
