PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

(Updated 10/25 9:28 P.M.)

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood confirms 7 year old Kieley Blakesley has succumbed to her injuries following an accident Tuesday morning. He adds that the little girl was pronounced brain dead earlier this evening at 8:38pm. at the Children's Hospital at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Blakesly was a passenger in the backseat of a car driven by 25 year old Paige Stuart. Authorities say she was unrestrained at the time of the crash. The other 5 year old girl, Stuart's daughter, was said to have been in a booster seat, and at last check was still listed in critical condition. The crash happened shortly before 7 A.M. yesterday morning in the area of Airport Road and Dietrich Lane near Bartonville. Sheriff Brian Asbell says Stuart was in the wrong lane when she collided with another vehicle. She has been cited for a child restraint violation, traveling in the wrong lane, failure to reduce speed, and DUI i based on suspicion that drugs were involved. We won't know for three to four weeks what kind of drugs, if any, might have been in Stuart's system, including prescription drugs.

Meanwhile, Metamora Grade School has alerted the community that Kieley Blakesley previously attended that school. As a result they had a crisis team available to students earlier today.

A gofundme page has also been set up in her name, with a goal of $8,000 nearly reached, already. In both the school's notification and the gofundme page it appears funeral arrangements are not complete.
