After three months of searching, the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council is still looking for a new CEO.
Denny Kief stepped in when former CEO Jennifer Daly left in July. The retired Mayor of Pekin says they interviewed great candidates for the first round of the search, but couldn't fill the position. Kief says they will present the idea of hiring a search firm at the committee meeting Wednesday. while they would like to hire someone in the region, it is not mandatory.
"Great manager of people, and a good economic development leader. Someone that can also mentor this very aggressive professional economic development staff" says Kief, describing a good candidate for the position.
Kief says the new CEO would "literally" hit the ground running with business traction and retention projects.
