Illinois joins more than three dozen other states asking for an end to credit reporting fees after the Equifax breach.
With 145 million Americans impacted by that incident, Attorney General Lisa Madigan joined 37 others, sending letters to Experian and Trans Union, urging
them to drop charging customers to add and-or temporarily lift a credit freeze at ten bucks a pop.
Madigan is also backing house bill 4095, making credit freeze fees illegal in Illinois.
