PONTIAC, Ill. (HOI) -- -

A 33-year-old man faces several charges after barricading himself in an apartment with a woman, reportedly against her will.

The Pontiac Police Department went to an apartment complex in the 400 block of W. North around 10:45 a.m. Friday on a report Justin Doan was holding a woman against her will, pointing and shooting a gun out of an upstairs window, and had shot at a woman outside. The gun was reportedly a BB gun.

Police moved to isolate the area around the three-story apartment complex. After evacuating other residents of the apartment complex, police began to talk to Doan via phone. Police said Doan refused to leave the building or allow the woman with him to speak or leave. Doan reportedly began to barricade the windows upstairs a short time later.

Doan and the woman exited the building just after 1 p.m. Doan was charged with possession of a stun gun by a felon, aggravated assault, and violation of conditional discharge. He is being held at the Livingston County Jail.

Pontiac Police were assisted by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, Streator Police Department, Bloomington Police Department and the Pontiac Fire Department.
