Defense says prosecution can prove Dewey's cause of death

HENNEPIN, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

New developments in the Deborah Dewey death investigation up in Putnam County.
67-year-old Clifford Andersen is being charged with concealing the homicidal death of his sister-in-law, 62-year-old Deborah Dewey.
Her body was found in a shallow grave behind a Standard, Illinois home, three weeks after she disappeared.
No cause of death has been given, but according to the Journal Star, one of the defense attorneys said that the prosecution could prove that Dewey died from blunt force trauma.
Andersen's trial was scheduled to start next month, but during Thursday's hearing, that was pushed back to next may, as DNA testing results remain incomplete.
