One dead after fatal accident on Route 150 in Bloomington

A person is dead and another injured after an accident on U.S. Route 150 in Bloomington Wednesday morning. 

Bloomington police and fire officials responded to Route 150 (Morrissey Drive) and Chrisman Lane just before 11:30 a.m. Officials on the scene found two people in a vehicle with serious injuries. One of the occupants was pronounced dead by the McLean County Coroner around 12:45 p.m. 

Witnesses said a vehicle was seen leaving the scene headed north on Route 150. A male victim was taken to OSF St. Joseph for treatment.

The name of the person who died is being withheld pending notification of his or her family. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. The Bloomington Police Department and McLean County Coroner's Office are investigating the accident. 

Route 150 between Rhodes and just north of Evans Junior High School is expected to remain closed for accident reconstruction for several hours.
