PCAV holds stand down for peace for Peoria's latest homicide victim

Posted: Updated:

Some Peoria residents, family and relatives are remembering the city's latest homicide victim Eric Brownlee, during a stand down Tuesday evening.
The Peoria County  coroner says 26-year-old Brownlee died from a gunshot wound to the neck.

Police were called to a home on Rock Island Avenue Friday night where Brownlee was apparently visiting friends.
One member of the Peoria Community Against Violence says they hope to provide as much support to the family as possible..

"A lot of times we're at a loss for words.  we just like to embrace them pretty much let them know they're not alone and we console them, comfort them the best way we can, if not with words just a hug," said PCAV Member Terry Burnside.

Police have not arrested any suspects in the  murder.
