ISU, Bradley, other local universities rank in national list

Several area higher learning institutions are touting their rankings in the annual U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges list. 

Bradley University was rated the seventh best regional university in the Midwest, with high marks for veterans among the student population and one of the top 30 engineering programs. Eureka College placed 26th for best regional college in the Midwest. 

Illinois State University placed 83rd in the nation for best public university. Thirty-two percent of ISU's classes have fewer than 20 students amid increasing enrollment. The graduation rate is 72 percent, higher than the national average of 60 percent. 

Illinois Wesleyan University and Knox College tied for 71st best national liberal arts college. Western Illinois University placed 61st for best regional university in the Midwest.
