Peoria's four public high schools were on lockdown for about 45 minutes Friday after a weapon was rumored to be seen at the Woodruff campus.
Peoria High, Manual, Woodruff and Richwoods were put under lockdown just before 1:30 p.m. Friday after the Peoria Police Department investigated. Officers attempted to locate and interview students, but the investigation did not lead to a weapon discovery on any of the district's high school campuses.
The lockdowns were lifted around 2:15 p.m. School dismissal is occurring at regular times, with a police presence at all four schools as a safety precaution.
The report of a weapon is still under investigation by authorities.
