Members of local Peoria neighborhoods are very aware of this and the folks in the Moss-Bradley area have been vocal about making sure their neighborhood is safe.
To ensure this, they've worked with city council members to create "traffic calming devices."
These devices look almost like large flower pots, sitting directly in the middle of intersections and while community members did plant items inside the traffic circles, they're not just around to look pretty.
The hope is that people who use the neighborhood as a short cut to get to their intended destination, will slow down and stop zooming through.
While their concern is certainly to ensure the safety of all members of the community, the focus is primarily on children.
Members of the Moss-Bradley neighborhood Association told 25 News that they will continue to do everything they can to advocate for neighborhood and help maintain the upkeep of these traffic circles.
