Dancing, singing and pasta took center stage today at the annual Italian festival Sunday at Hickory Grove Park in Dunlap.
The 88th festival picnic brought people of all ages who celebrated their ancestry. Kids got a chance to play, while adults lined up to eat popular Italian cuisine. After their meal they also had a chance to enjoy some of the baked sweets.
"I think in today's day and age when families are kind of dissolved a little bit it's important to remember how you got there," said volunteer Tim DiBernardino.
The event raises money to provide scholarships to students. So far more than $80,000 dollars has been given out to students.
