One city councilman mentioned in the suit told 25 NEWS he wasn't even aware of the allegations.
So this is just breaking now within the City of Peoria.
The legal team had no comment, given the pending case.
But the former head of the local NAACP said he was very familiar with the issues raised here, if not the actual specific incidents cited.
"Yes and no. A city ordinances related to homes, I have no empirical evidence that it's going on but I suspect it is," said Don Jackson.
The lawsuit further claims that police use cameras attached to tactical equipment and vehicles to spy on minority communities from the road.
