It's a bit unusual to have more than one birthday party. But when you're well into triple digits, no one tells you no. Doris Snyder turned 109 Thursday.
That's right she is 109 years young! Snyder was in the hospital Saturday and could not attend her first celebration at a restaurant in Washington.
But she insisted that the 60 relatives have fun without her, Snyder has now returned to Riverview Nursing home where she lives.. She's has had three more birthday parties since the weekend. Snyder is a Chicago Cubs fan and says she lived close to Wrigley Field several years ago.
The East Peoria woman says she loves eating sweets and talking with friends.
"It's not just an ordinary birthday. I guess many of us don't make it to 109. So I'm sort of special and didn't know it", she said.
Relatives and friends continued to bring in flowers for Snyder throughout the day. She was born in the same year the Chicago Cubs won their second world series.
