Foodies from all over Central Illinois converged upon the Peoria Riverfront to sample some local cuisine and River City favorites.
There were more than 30 vendors at the 36th Annual Taste of Peoria, including a mix of Mom and Pop shops and popular chain restaurants.
The nice weather helped to boost turnout, making for long lines and packed crowds.
Bands were there to entertain the masses while they munched.
We asked folks what some of their favorites were, and here were some of the responses:
"The prime rib from Johnny's, definitely," said one patron.
"The panini from Johnny's and this s'mores cheesecake from Triple Dipple," another showed us.
"my favorite thing so far has been the ribs," exclaimed yet another person.
"Kenny's West Side Pub, the corned beef quesadilla," was one emphatic response.
"The mac and cheese is good from Hickory River," shared someone else.
At the end of the night judges also awarded prizes based on booth design, appetizers, casual entrees, desserts, and beverages.
