Sandy Garza is a leader who makes a difference in the lives of many Peoria area families. She is the Development and Marketing Director for the Crittenton Centers. During the past two years she has developed the vision and led the committee to have the largest fundraiser in the center’s history, the 125th Anniversary Celebration Gala.
Sandy set a vision for the center to reduce its dependency on the State and be known for how Crittenton Centers helps families beyond the Crisis Nursery. She has worked to cultivate the relationships needed to obtain these goals for the center. One of her major accomplishments was the cultivation of a longtime friend and donor of Crittenton Centers to pay off the center’s mortgage and establish a scholarship fund for children of working parents.
Sandy accomplished the first step in her branding goals by her presentation to Adams Outdoor advertising and secured a donation for $100,000 in PSA advertising billboard campaign for all three services for the entire 2017 calendar year. All this was accomplished during a time when every nonprofit was competing for every dollar due to a lack of State funding.
The passion for keeping families strong and out of crisis comes from her two and half years serving as a foster mother for three children who were able to successfully be reunited with their mother. For making a difference in the lives of Central Illinois families we honor Sandy with a position as one of our 25 Women in Leadership.
