Ameren upgrading meters in 4 area counties

Posted: Updated:
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

Expect to see an Ameren employee upgrading your gas or electric meter if you live in Livingston, McLean, Tazewell or Woodford County.

As part of a multi-part upgrade plan, Ameren will upgrade meters in the following communities:

  •  Livingston County – Flanagan, Graymont, Pontiac
  • McLean County – Arrowsmith, Bloomington, Carlock, Chenoa, Colfax, Cooksville, Danvers Downs, Ellsworth, Gridley, Heyworth, Hudson, Le Roy, Lexington, McLean, Merna, Normal, Shirley, Stanford, Towanda
  • Tazewell County – Deer Creek, Mackinaw, Minier
  • Woodford County – Congerville, El Paso, Eureka, Goodfield, Kappa, Panola, Roanoke, Secor

The work begins in September and continues into 2018. Customers will be contacted by Ameren before a worker comes out to make the changes. Customers don't have to be at home, but the Ameren installer does need a clear path to the meter. Each upgrade takes between 10 to 15 minutes. Installers will never ask for payment of any kind.

Electric service will be briefly interrupted by the upgrade.

Customers with questions can visit AmerenIllinois.com/focus or call Ameren Illinois Customer Service at 1-800-755-5000.
