PEORIA, Ill (HOI) -- -

Expect delays on Northmoor Road near Richwoods High School over the next four weeks.

Peoria Public Works is doing utility work on Northmoor between Richwoods and Imperial Drive. Flaggers will control traffic through the area.

In about a month, Northmoor will become a one way eastbound route between Allen Road and University. New utilities and a traffic signal will be installed at Northmoor and Rosemead. A two-way traffic pattern will be re-implemented around Thanksgiving.

A frontage road is being built in the grassy parking area in front of Expo Gardens.

When reconstruction is totally completed in fall 2019, Northmoore will be totally rebuilt between Allen and University, with three lanes, a sidewalk on the north side of the road, and biking and walking path on the south side of the road, and ornamental street lights, trees and plants. The $10.5 million project is supported by around $7 million in federal grants.
