Bloomington man pleads guilty to woman's heroin overdose on the one year anniversary of her death

Jeremy Miller pleaded guilty to drug induced homicide today on the one year anniversary of the death of  28 year old Marie Ann Lavallee.
The two were in a relationship, and at one point Miller told police she was his fiancee. Authorities say Miller purchased the heroin in Chicago and brought it back to Bloomington to share with Lavallee. She was found unresponsive the following day, and although 911 was called, it was too late. The Assistant State's Attorney says the criminal charges filed against Miller are meant to send a message that those who provide drugs that lead to fatal overdoses will be held accountable.
