Multiple events feed into what's expected to be a $10 million dollar St. Jude Telethon

An estimated 700 people made it out for the 10th annual Backyard Talent Show for St. Jude.

It's just one of several events that feed into the grand total of the St. Jude telethon, running this Saturday.

24 acts took part in the talent show, organized by children like Claire Geier.

"And we want to raise a lot more. So it's awesome to see our community come out and support everything we do and have done to help the kids of St. Jude," Geier said. They've raised $150,000 total..

Grace Jenkins spent a year in the hospital when she was just 7, battling leukemia.

"Because of events like this to raise money, people don't have to pay anything. My message is every little bit counts,"Jenkins said.

Kendall Gerth had a small, benign tumor in her arm as a baby.

She's now told her story while performing here for 6 years.

"And how nobody had to pay anything. It just inspired me to help St. Jude since they helped my family so much," Gerth said.

Another event that takes place after the telethon helped raise more than a half million dollars for this year's event.

It's the Peoria to Memphis motorcycle run.
