St. Jude Run and Telethon set for Saturday

PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

Expect thousands of St. Jude runners to arrive in downtown Peoria Saturday afternoon. 

The St. Jude runners will begin arriving at the staging area in the Civic Center parking lot around 3 p.m., with the last wave arriving by 6 p.m. Officers will be posted at Kumpf to assist runners to the staging area. Large motor homes and buses will park along John Gwynn and Hightower, near the American Red Cross building.

Kumpf will close around 3 p.m. to accommodate the runners. Monroe will also close between Kumpf and Fulton. The only traffic allowed on Kumpf will bwe traffic associated with the runners. 

The runners will parade around 6:30 p.m. from Monroe to Main to Jefferson to the Civic Center. These roads, along with Fulton and Madison near the Civic Center, will shut down for the runners. 

The following intersections will be impacted between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. 

The 40th Annual St. Jude Telethon will air on WEEK Channel 25 between 6:30 p.m. and midnight. You can also watch on WEEK.com or the 25 News Facebook page
