Republican Congressman Rodney Davis said after three decades, the U.S. needs tax reform.
He said current regulations keep small business owners from expanding and giving back to their community.
Davis made a stop in Central Illinois Tuesday.
Rodney Davis stopped at Fox and Hounds Spa and Salon in Bloomington to talk to small business owners about what they want to see.
The owner here wants taxes simplified so it's less intimidating to be a business owner.
Davis wants to allow Americans to have the opportunity to save more including separation of income streams so that small business is no longer taxed on the individual side.
"Meeting with people like Vicki to talk about the impact of any changes to the tax code to their ability to be a viable small business in communities like Bloomington-Normal," said Davis.
The U.S. Representative also made his way to talk to artists and other shop owners in the building.
He said he wants more round-table discussions and tours before he puts pen to paper.
