Time machines may not exist, but that didn't stop families in the heart of Illinois from stepping back in time at Sommer park.
Every last Sunday of the month from April to October are Pioneer Days at the park in Edwards.
Each day is dedicated to experiencing a different aspect of the Peoria area from the mid 1800's.
for today...the focus was on the kids, and the games and toys they kept themselves entertained with.
Those include marbles, toss, and even making dolls out of corn husks.
"You can easily grow your own vegetables or fruit, and it will be a lot less expensive than going to the store and buying the fresh organic foods, if you want to live that way. And I think you need to start thinking about the Earth more because that is where we live, and you can't just build a new earth," said actress Brianna Varvil.
Other activities at Pioneer Days included candle making, woodworking, and even blacksmithing.
