Posted: Updated:

Bikers lined up in Bartonville Saturday morning ready to ride with a purpose; raising money for breast cancer.

Committee member, Caroline Booth said "It's incredible to see the amount of people that come in that people just perceive as just bikers riding but you've got every kind of person coming through to participate in this ride. it's just unbelievable."

Bikers for Tatas is a not for profit organization created back in 2008.
This years 10th annual  ride includes a 130 mile route throughout Central Illinois.
The funds received from bike registration, raffle tickets and Bikers for Tatas merchandise has helped the organization raise 238,500 dollars.

"I don't think there is anyone that doesn't know someone affected by breast cancer." said founder Nancy Borum.

Founder of bikers for Tatas Nancy Borum knows that all too well.
She created the organization when she watched her grandmother and aunt both die from the disease.
Her mom has also recently lost her battle with breast cancer. And it continues to impact her family.
Nancy's sister is celebrating seven years cancer free.

7 year cancer survivor and Nancy's sister said "I wasn't quite sure at first that I wanted everybody to know, but everybody's so nice. And it was so nice to hear from survivors that had been 10, 15, 20 years.. So then I knew it was possible.

Every penny the organization raises stays in Central Illinois.
Nancy has hopes the organization will expand to include bicycle and car routes to allow for more support.
