The McClean Co. Sheriff reports that two people have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of 47-year-old Teresa Poehlman.
In a joint news release sent early Friday evening by McLean Co. Sheriff Jon Sandage and States Attorney Jason Chambers the people named are Christine Roush, 22, of Washington and Matthew Isbell, 20, of Marquette Heights.
Roush is Poehlman's biological daughter. Both were arrested Friday in Bloomington and both have been charged with First Degree Murder.
Poehlman's body was discovered Sunday by hikers at the Sugar Grove Nature Center in Funks Grove. Earlier in the week, police released a photo of a tattoo and a necklace to get help identifying Poehlman..
Her boyfriend, who lives in East Peoria, told us when he saw the "Leo's lady" tattoo he "lost it," but called authorities. Leo Schucks says Poehlman "has a beautiful heart. she was definitely a good person and she was very warm hearted."
Roush and Isbell are scheduled for a charging hearing tomorrow, Saturday, July 8th. The investigating agencies say there is a possibility of more arrests and anyone with information is encouraged to call Det. Cory Beverlin at 888-5048.
