The 44th Annual Steamboat Days Festival was held today in Peoria.
The festival has been going on since Thursday evening and this is the first year Peoria Park District, Peoria Area Community Events and Inked Entertainment have all collaborated to put together the party.
They had plenty to bring to the festivities this year, including live music, games and of course, the iconic ferris wheel.
Nick Conrad, Supervisor of Riverfront Events said "Last night featured Jake Owen, LANCO and Eric Paslay. So that has been a nice addition to the festival. We kind of stepped up the level of entertainment this year.
That said - there was a slight damper on the party with the potential for severe weather rolling through the Heart of Illinois - officials had to cancel the festival and several performances early to get people home safe.
