CityLink believes you can save more by utilizing their services rather than spending hundreds, and may be thousands of dollars on gas.
Each individual who rides public transportation instead of driving can save, on average, more than $816 per month.
CityLink celebrated national "Dump the Pump"day, asking you to give your car a break and forget about spending money on gas.
Those who ride bus regularly,spends about $40/month.
One transit official says using public transportation can save an average American household thousands of dollars on fuel each year, and help the environment.
"We also have two hybrid buses which uses bio diesel fuel and an electric battery, so those are actually better for the environment and reduce emissions up to 90 percent. We are trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible.so, that kind of sets us apart from other transit agencies,"said Emily Watson.
CityLink is the longest running transportation agency in the nation using regionally grown soy-based bio diesel fuel since 2009
And later this year, transit officials are planning to save more on fuel by adding two more diesel-electric hybrid buses to its fleet.
