Fairbury police seek man who escaped squad car

The Fairbury Police Department is looking for a man who broke out a squad car to avoid going to jail.

Police said they arrested Christopher Folk in Forrest, Ill. around 11 p.m. Tuesday evening for aggravated domestic battery. Police said Folk broke out the rear window of the patrol car and escaped while an officer was doing paperwork and taking photos at the scene. 

A search by officers and K9s was unsuccessful in locating Folk. The man now also faces charges of escape and criminal damage to state-supported property. He could be in the Forrest or Chatsworth areas.
