Russian hackers attempted to delete or alter Illinois voter records last year, Bloomberg News reports.
As previously reported, as many as 90,000 Illinois voter records were compromised during the run-up to the 2016 elections. Information included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and other personally identifiable information.
Bloomberg reports a U.S. counterintelligence agency also found that Russian hackers failed in an attempt to change or delete some information from the state's voter database.
In all, the news website reports hackers infiltrated the voting systems of 39 states, more than previously thought.
