Wing Fest comes back to the riverfront

Posted: Updated:
PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

The second annual Peoria Wing Fest took place on a beautiful day here in Peoria down by the riverfront.

Over five hundred people came to the sold out event.

A portion of each ticket sold benefits the Peoria Friendship House.

Restaurants from all over came out, including Kenny's Westside Pub, Kouri's Pub and Whitey's BBQ.

Those coming out enjoyed their favorite wings, beers and some live music.

"Neighborhood House is a great cause. We always come to several different events to donate to all causes in Peoria. It's another great time to remember why we're really here. And of course, to eat some wings," said Janay Yotter.

"The Friendship house does a great thing around the area, helping out with after school programs, help out with meals for underprivileged. This is an opportunity to raise funds and raise awareness for their cause," said Scott Hecathorn.

Awards were given to the winning restaurants for the categories, hottest wings, most traditional, exotic, and best in show.
