Judge: Heidelberg bond hearing must be held in appellate court

Cleve Heidelberg will have to wait for a bond hearing after his 47-year-old murder conviction was overturned. 

Peoria County Judge Albert Purham ruled Friday that the proper jurisdiction for Heidelberg's bond hearing was at the appellate court in Ottawa, Ill. Heidelberg's 1970 conviction for the murder of Peoria County Sheriff's Sgt. Raymond Espinoza was overturned earlier this month, and a new trial was ordered.
