There will be at least two new faces on the Peoria City Council after Tuesday's election.
Peoria has two at-large seats open following the resignations of now State Sen. Chuck Weaver and now State Rep. Ryan Spain. Current councilman Sid Ruckriegel was appointed to replace Weaver and is up for re-election. Candidates John Kelly, Zach Oyler and Rob Hanauer are also vying for an at-large spot.
A newcomer will also serve Peoria's 5th District after incumbent Casey Johnson chose not to run again. Candidates Rita Ali, an ICC vice president, and financial adviser Denis Cyr are competing for the seat.
In Peoria's 1st District, incumbent Denise Moore is contending against David Berry, an employee of Helping Hands Resource Center. Incumbent Jim Montelongo is running against former Peoria Police assistant chief Mike Eddlemon in the 4th council district.
The second and third council districts had only one candidate running.
