"Leaks of classified information are serious serious federal crimes for a reason," said Director James Comey.
Leaks, wire tapping, and potential ties between Trump's campaign and the Russian government.... all covered by FBI Director James Comey.
"From my standpoint we need to be very, very cautious about our interactions with Russia. I look at Putin as a thug, he is a former KGB agent that has been involved with murder and killing people," said Congressman Darin LaHood.
U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth released a statement that said in part "It is imperative that the FBI's investigation proceeds independently and without influence..."
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos also weighed in about the investigation that said in part "They must go where the facts lead them..."
Comey said there is no evidence to confirm Trump's Tweets accusing Former President Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower during the 2016 campaign.
"I would hope the president would act more presidential and be careful about making allegations that you can't substantiate going forward. Again, we have big issues to face in this country and I think the more we can focus on those the better," said LaHood.
All three local leaders appear united on one theme: worried that a foreign power could've impacted our election and anxious to see where the investigation points.
