A weekend brawl at a South Peoria nightclub lands seven people in jail. More than a dozen Peoria police and county sheriffs deputies rushed to Klub Karma just after one o'clock Saturday morning when a fight broke out inside. A police department spokesperson says when officers arrived security had been trying to move club patrons outside but many of them were resisting. She says even after people were removed from Klub Karma the fight continued into the parking lot and three cops were injured. One local activists says too often rules for screen patrons go unchecked.
"They just have to be ran good, good management good security team, good staff even with good staff that still may not be the problem," said community Activist Terry Burnside.
A police department spokesperson says the club on South West Washington is still open for business.
