The United Auto Workers have reached a tentative agreement on a new six-year contract with Caterpillar.
The union posted the update to their website at 1 p.m. Wednesday. No details of the agreement will be released until members review and vote on the agreement.
"Caterpillar and the United Auto Workers (UAW) negotiations teams have reached a Tentative Agreement on a new, six-year labor contract that successfully balances the needs of an increasingly competitive global marketplace and recognizes the contribution of our employees by providing fair, competitive wages and benefits," said the company in a statement.
The UAW represents local units in East Peoria, Mossville, Morton, Mapleton and Pontiac. Workers in York, Penn. and Montgomery, Ill. are also represented by the UAW.
Local unions will set meeting dates to review the details of the contract. Ratification votes will be held on March 26.
The unions have worked under an expired contract since the end of February.
