The Stark County Sheriff's Office will have no chief deputy for at least the immediate future.
Veteran officer Bob Winn retired from that position last week, and new sheriff Steve Sloan said Friday he decided to leave the job open for a while.
The Journal-Star reports Winn had been with the office for more than 26 years, and had been chief deputy for 14 years.
Another recent personnel change involved the resignation of one of the three other full-time deputes, who will be leaving December 23rd.
Sloan said that position would probably be filled next month.
