MORTON, Ill. -- When you step into The Office on Main it's a little like going back in time.
That's because the bar and grille hasn't really changed in 50 years, and that's just how residents like it.
For lots of locals- The office on Main is about as synonymous with Morton... as the pumpkin.
"Since 1968 it has been the office. But the building itself has been around for a long time. It was a dry goods store," said Theresa Schumaker, who co-owns the restaurant with Darrin Sheldon.
The old barber shop where locals would get a trim and then stop by for a bite may not be there anymore, but Schumaker said she wants to keep that hometown feeling alive.
"Live music is very few and far between with the bars, so we are trying to bring that back and keep that in the community," said Theresa.
You come for the drinks and music, but stay for the food.
It's known for it's reasonably priced burgers and tenderloins.
"When it comes to tenderloins, we pound our tenderloins here. With our burgers it is fresh and never frozen," said Schumaker.
I ordered the Office Burger.
It's a half pound of beef with pepper jack cheese, onions straws, jalapenos and tangy sauce.
With a side of fries - it was definitely a step up from your typical bar food.
All in all - this is one office where you'll want to put in some overtime.
My total before tip came to eight dollars.
