We all say it is important to love what you do. Kelly Messmore is proof, from the clinical diagnostic reports, quarterly clinical progress notes, and individual therapeutic plans of care.
She brings home progress for her students as well as service on professional committees, and public speaking engagements. Kelly is a highly regarded speech-language pathologist for Peoria District 150 schools, but more importantly she is a role model for both her professional peers and for the people she serves. In fact, she was nominated in August 2015 for the ‘Illinois State Board of Education Those Who Excel Award.’ Utilizing her medical knowledge and experience, she helped to develop the District’s protocol on how to safely manage children with dysphagia, feeding/swallowing disorders. She also mentors new staff and Clinical Fellows, supervises speech-language graduate students from Illinois State and has served as President Elect, President, Past President and Chair of the Honors Committee of the Peoria Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
Realizing that her field is facing personnel shortages, Kelly speaks regularly at local colleges to promote her field. Please welcome Kelly Messmore to the 25 Women in Leadership.
