You Gotta Eat: One Eleven Coffee

You Gotta Eat: One Eleven Coffee

WYOMING, Ill. -- Diners at One Eleven Coffee in Wyoming say it's just what this small town has needed: a cozy place to meet and eat.

The restaurant opened in June after Sheila Rumbold and two of her closest friends all privately came up with the same idea.

“We'd all been eyeing this building and so we just put all of our dreams together and combined and became One Eleven Coffee,” said Rumbold.

There's some personal history here which has cleverly been used to decorate the place.

“The bicycles came from my family. The second one is my mother's and the third one was hers when she was a little girl,” said Melissa Nagode.

And since One Eleven Coffee sits right next to the Rock Island Trail quite a few cyclists stop here. That's why a bicycle is part of the logo.

The menu here is filled with homemade soups and sandwiches and plenty sweet treats. And of course, there's coffee, including lattes and cappuccinos.

For my lunch I had a Pick Two special: half a Turkey Club Panini sandwich and a bowl of Cheesy Vegetable soup. Both were delicious. Turns out the Turkey Club Panini is one of their biggest sellers.

I washed it down with a strawberry-banana smoothie and couldn't resist one of their salted caramel brownies for dessert.

My bill before tip was $15.50.

One Eleven Coffee opens Monday through Friday at 6 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday at 8.

I really liked this place. I think you will too.
