You Gotta Eat - Seasons Gastropub

MORTON, Ill. -- Seasons Gastropub in Morton opened in January and has quickly turned into a local favorite.

"The response has been phenomenal," said owner Sam Parrott. "We had no idea. Probably our toughest part right now is just hiring good help."

Its called Seasons because of the restaurant's seasonal menu. Executive chef Trent Pavlik, a Morton native, came up with the idea.

"Every three months our menu completely changes," explained Pavlik. "That's not just the food but we (also) have rotating craft beers on draft, a craft beer bottle selection and seasonal cocktails."

The burgers at Seasons are a huge draw. So is the lay out.

An outdoor patio is in the works and there's a spacious event room downstairs that's available for groups.

Giant garage door sized windows can be raised in good weather to give the restaurant an open-air feel.

The place filled up quickly during my visit. And my food was delivered fast too. It was on the table less than ten minutes from the time I placed my order.

I had the Rueben for $8.50. It was topped with swiss cheese, black pepper aioli and artichoke kraut and served on a pretzel bun.

The corned beef was hot and fresh and the sandwich was delicious.

It comes with fries, chips or a salad but for a dollar more I had the parmesan fries. They were well worth the extra buck.

For dessert I couldn't resist Grandma Kaufman's Brownie a la mode, named after a local baking legend.

With a raspberry tea my bill was just over $18 before tip.

Seasons Gastropub is located at 149 South Main Street in Morton and opens everyday at 11 am.

My experience there was a good one. The food was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been friendlier.
