You Gotta Eat - Busy Corner

Posted: Updated:
GOODFIELD, Ill. -- There is a place where you can meet people from across the country and still feel right at home.

Located just off I-74, you never know who you will run into at Busy Corner in Goodfield.

The restaurant was founded in the 1940s and moved into its current building 11 years ago.

Over the years, the fried chicken has gained a big following, but I went with a hot cup of coffee and a freshly made waffle.

It came covered in whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

Of course, you can'not visit this local favorite without dessert.

"We're mostly known for our homemade pies," said General Manager Derek Vollmer.

"It's been a trademark here for a very long time."

Not wanting to break tradition, I dug right in to a piece of apple cinnamon.

It was so good, I brought the rest of the pie back to a couple lucky coworkers.

All in all, Busy Corner gets an A+ from these busy journalists.

My total before tip for the waffle, coffee and whole apple pie came to $23.49.

Busy Corner is located at 302 South Eureka Street in Goodfield.
