You Gotta Eat - Kemp 208 Main Street Grille

Posted: Updated:
MORTON, Ill. -- We first took you to this restaurant about a year ago for it's grand opening. As it approaches its first anniversary, this casual fine dining spot isn't losing any steam.

"Business has been awesome," said owner Cathy Kemp."

"Morton, Peoria, Bloomington... lots of support from all over the area," she said.

When you walk into Kemp 208, it is hard not to feel right at home.

That is because the century old building is actually a house. And it is still filled with all the comforts of home.

"As you walk inside, you'll see there is a fireplace, and it is a working fireplace," said Kemp.

"So in the winter, we have the fireplace going almost every day."

The food, however, is a little beyond what mom used to make.

"We have paninis and burgers and soup and salads, and then at dinner we change our menu quite often. Every six to eight weeks."

Their seasonal pumpkin soup is the perfect addition to a chilly fall day.

I also gave the caprese panini a try. It is made with fresh tomato and mozzarella on sourdough bread.

For desert, the flourless chocolate cake topped with vanilla ice cream helped satisfy my sweet tooth.

The restaurant features a different menu for dinner, so you will never run out of reasons to stop by Kemp 208 Main Street Grille.

The restaurant is located at 208 North Main Street in Morton.
