It started out just like any other lay up.

Clippers guard Shaun Livingston said, "It was just 2 points in my mind that I was going for. It was a steal by my teammate Cuttino Mobley and I picked up a loose ball and went down the court. It was like a 1 on 1 situation only a little faster. I lost my balance and when I cam down I landed all wrong."

The injury was gruesome, painful and possibly career ending. But Shaun kept a positive attitude.

Livingston said, "We weren't thinking about the negatives. We prayed about it then everything else was out of our hands."

It could have been worse because doctors originally thought Livingston could lose his leg. He tore every major ligament in his knee and dislocated his kneecap.

Livingston said, "I think most of this rehabilitation process is mental. It's all in my mind. It's what you feel you can do and what you put your mind to. The knee is going to heal on its own. I can't make it heal but I can do things to help it heal."

ESPN warned viewers before showing the video of the injury. It was one of the most watched videos on You Tube. But Shaun himself has never seen it.

Livingston said, "I think when I do make my comeback I want to be able to play my game the way I was playing and take it to new heights as well and for that to happen I can't go to the basket in fear. I have to go with confidence and strength and everything I need to finish."

Maybe someday he'll watch it but for now 100 percent of his energy is focused on returning to the court and the game he loves.
