After last season Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Herm Edwards got an idea.

Kansas City Chief Full back Boomer Grigsby said, "He said I just want you to know I'm going to be moving you to fullback this spring full time It's going to be your thing. He said I think it's your best shot at becoming a starter in the National Football League. I was kind of more excited than he was."

Grigsby will start camp number two on the depth chart but he'll get plenty of chances to block for one of the best running backs in the league.

Grigsby said, "Larry Johnson is hands down the best rushing running back in the NFL. I get a chance to block for him. Obviously I see the light at the end of the tunnel I think at linebacker I had become complacent and assumed the backup role where at full back, I feel I could be become one of the better full backs in the league."

He's only played on the offensive side of the ball twice in his life but he's had success.

Grigsby said, "I scored a touchdown on one of them and I got like a fifteen or twenty yard gain on the other one."

Boomer's attempt to make it at fullback will draw national attention this summer as he and his Chief's teammates are featured on HBO.

Grigsby said, "They do the whole team and obviously there'll be an emphasis on Herm cause he's such a passionate and kind of crazy coach. But they feature like four guys where they like to tell a story. Of like a young trying to make it, An older guy on his way down and then they just pick a couple other guys. And they chose me cause they wanted a transition so it's a good story and then they wanted somebody to give them a little flare and have a good time so obviously I volunteered."
