News 25: We've heard from Hank Steinbrenner already in the media talking about Joba Chamberlain and he needs to be a starter. I know you're trying to limit his pitch count early in the season. How do you deal with those kind of things. Obviously, the Yankee manager has had to deal with ownership for 30 years.

Joe Girardi: "Well, you just have constant communication. We're all on the same page and to me, you love an owner who has passion for his club, who wants to see his club win every day because that's an owner that you want to work for or play for. I enjoy the passion. When I talk about coaches, I want coaches who have a passion for what they do, players who have a passion for what they do. You want that in your ownership group as well."

News 25: Tell me about the pressure cooker. Every day there's...I'm lucky enough to talk to you by yourself, but in a few minutes there'll be fifty guys who want to talk to you. You go through that every day, you've been through it before.

Girardi: "I think the real pressure comes from within. It always has. As a player it came from within, as a coach it came from within. Just wanting to be the best that you can be and be prepared on an everyday basis and that you have your players prepared. The pressure from the outside is not going to eat me up as much as the pressure from within and that's what I have to deal with and some days are easier than others but some days they're pretty easy."

News 25: It's so great to see you in this environment. We saw your wife and your kids before the game . How much do your days, your four years at Northwestern, your days at Spalding and growing up in East Peoria, how much are those times a part of you now.

Girardi: "They're a huge part because that's where your roots are, and that's where you develop your family ties and your friendship ties. I think about growing up and how involved my family was and I have my family involved. I have them at the ballpark. I take my son to the ballpark early. I take my daughter. I've got her chewing sunflower seeds. It's a family affair."

News 25: I always tell people that between the two of us we have won three World Series rings. I'm very proud of that. Thanks and good luck.
