Ryne Sandberg managed the final game of his second season with Peoria on Tuesday, losing 13-4. Peoria finished the second half 30-40, 60-78 for the season.
Sandberg's two-year record as manager is 131-146. Could he come back for a third year? Even Ryno doesn't know the answer to that question yet.
"We’ll find out November or December what’s going on, and yeah, I’m looking forward to the fall league," Sandberg said. "It should be a good experience, and we’ll see what’s in store for me for next year."
Sandberg was honored by the Chiefs before Thursday's home finale. The Cubs Hall of Famer had his number retired, and it now flies on a flag in center field.
"It just keeps getting better and better. IT makes it all worthwhile, putting in all the hard work and doing what I’m doing. Good things seem to be happening with what I’m doing so I’m gonna keep going, and it’s pretty awesome to look out there."
